Dear Auntie Kate:
About 2 years ago,  I was reunited with a 3rd cousin after 20 years apart.  We used to play together as children because we were close to the same age.  I am a flight attendant and about 1 year ago,  I had a layover in the city where he lives.  He came to see me and ended up spending the night but slept on the sofa in my hotel room.  The next morning,  he decided to give me a back massage which led to sex.  We have since then,  fallen in love and are happy in our relationship.  He is still going through a divorce from his wife of 20 years and has two small children.  I used to feel guilty about making love with my "cousin" but now I want to be with him all the time.  The problem we have is telling anyone in our immediate families.  Should we worry about their feelings or about isolating family members because of our feelings for each other?  Neither of us planned or expected this to happen,  it just did!   Help!

I love those back messages..LOL

I would establish the relationship into a solid foundation and see where you are headed with it before you go on out and tell the family. Take you time and enjoy each other first and if it looks as if you are going to be in it for the long haul, you can then decide to tell family or not.

I would also suggest that he follows through with the divorce that he is in the process in before anyone is told.

Good Luck

Cousin Sarah
